What is End-to-End Reporting Bonus?
This bonus is available in the Quality category for the manner of reporting called as the Certified EHR Technology (CEHRT) bonus or End-to-End reporting bonus. Using certified EHR during some part of patient care, data capture, and reporting process is not enough.
To earn this bonus (1 point per measure), data for a quality measure must be gathered and reported electronically without any manual intervention.
2015 EDITION CERTIFIED EHR REQUIRED
To earn this bonus, your EHR must be certified to the 2015 Edition by the last day of the performance period (Dec 31, 2019).
COLLECTION TYPES APPLICABLE
The end-to-end reporting bonus is available for eCQM, MIPS-CQMs, QCDR Measures, and CMS Web Interface collection types.
This bonus is capped at 10% of the maximum quality category points. (6 points if you are required to submit 6 measures)
CONDITIONS WHEN BONUS IS NOT EARNED
If you manually abstract data from a 2015 Certified EHR, and enter it into a web portal or an input app offered by your registry, you will lose the end-to-end reporting bonus.
They will also lose this bonus even after gathering data using CEHRT and transmitting it to a third-party using appropriate data standards (QRDA, API). If the third-party intermediary reports for MIPS by performing manual manipulation of the file to upload data into a web portal, it is no longer end-to-end reporting, and thus doesn't qualify for the bonus.
If you have to report 6 measures, that could be a direct 6 point hit to your MIPS score. Given that every point of MIPS score will impact the payment adjustment, it is worth paying close attention. Ensure that your Registry offers seamless electronic reporting with no manual intervention.
